  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cream sugar and shortening. Add molasses and egg - beat.
  3. Add dry ingredients.
  4. Roll into balls; about one inch in diameter and roll in sugar. DON'T FLATTEN!
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
