The "Original" is quite a simplistic gingerbread loaf cake and heavily spiced, with a perfect moist texture. It makes the perfect gift, so make sure you make two!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Grease and line loaf pan with parchment. Pan should be 10"L x 4"D x 4"H.
  3. Cream butter and brown sugar in mixing bowl.
  4. Slowly add egg, golden syrup and water with baking soda.
  5. Immediately, add dry ingredients and mix.
  6. Bake 45-60 minutes.
